Holiday Shipping Dates and Priority for Toybox Orders

Hello Future Builders! 

As many of you might have noticed, this year a record number of imports are causing delays amongst most retailers. Although this does affect the length of time between ordering and shipping, we are committed to providing accurate and timely shipments so you can enjoy the Toybox experience with your family on Christmas day.

The holiday season is approaching quickly and the team here at Toybox has decided to remain transparent with shipping terms ensuring that all orders placed will be delivered as timely as possible.

This is a living document that will be adjusted as more new information is made available to us. We will also be emailing customers on all shipment dates so be sure to check our emails as soon as possible.

Please note, this timeline does not apply if you ordered a No Rush Bundle.

Estimated arrival Dec 23. All orders that weren't already in fulfillment by Thursday were expedited.

*Some orders are arriving Dec 29. Please see Accommodations for orders arriving after Dec 24” and Batch 3 details for more information below. Some orders will have extra printer food and extra beds ship separately and arrive between the 26th and 28th, but the base deluxe bundle and deluxe food will be shipped on time.

Batch 3: Dec 3 - Dec 16

All printers are in the warehouse and are currently being fulfilled. All of these orders will be expedited and the latest deliveries will be Dec 29.

--- DETAILED BATCH SUMMARIES ---

Batch 0: Orders placed before or on Nov 1:

All of these orders have shipped and should have arrived.

 

Batch 1: Orders placed Nov 2 - Nov 20:

All but <5% of these orders have shipped and should have tracking attached. Of the <5%, these will be shipped prior to Batch 2. These are processing in our warehouse and will most likely ship from our warehouse Dec 15 or 16.

Expected arrival: All of these orders have shipped and should have arrived.

 

Batch 2: Orders placed Nov 21 - Dec 2:

All printer orders have shipped and are in the hands of the carrier, filament orders may arrive separately. Most orders are scheduled to arrive on Dec 24, however many orders received last minute fulfillment delays from UPS, USPS, Fedex and DHL pushing them to Dec 29. 

For orders arriving after Christmas.

We understand how upset many of you are. We've been doing everything we can to deliver your package on time. We've made some mistakes trusting carrier times in which they removed their shipping guarantee on us last minute and changed the estimated delivery time when the orders were already in fulfillment. We were unaware of these changes until the carriers shipped out the packages and provided tracking information.

Our shipping estimates were based on what our provider guaranteed to us, so all the orders that were sent between Tues Dec 15, and Fri Dec 18 relied on these shipping times. (See Chart Below)

We based our estimations on these times which have been historically correct. However, by the time we learned of the delay, many orders had already been shipped out. All orders shipping that weren't in fulfillment by Dec 17 were automatically expedited per our guarantee.

Expected arrival: Dec 23-24 for most printer orders. December 29 for about 20%.

 

Batch 3: Orders placed Dec 3 - Dec 16:

These order arrived at our warehouse on Dec 15. They are being processed by our warehouse receiving team and should ship out by Mon Dec 21, or Tues Dec 22 with expedited shipping. 

Many of these orders, although expedited, may be pushed to the 29th due to carrier delays. This week many carriers updated their timelines with no delivery guarantees as UPS and Fedex will be delivering vaccines and USPS is carrying the weight of most retail purchases. 

Estimated Arrival: Dec 24  ** Carrier delays may push final delivery further

 

What we are doing to ensure we meet Dec 24 deadlines:

We will be constantly monitoring shipping estimated provided by our suppliers. For all orders that haven't shipped by Dec 17, we will expedite shipping free of charge.

For any orders coming late, we will notify you via email by Dec 14 so you have time to cancel your order and receive a full refund.

 

My tracking says 'pre-shipment', what does this mean? 

The tracking information will initially be in a 'pre-shipment' status. This means the order was scanned and has left our warehouse. Once the carrier ships it from their facility, the page will update to a 'package is shipped' page where the ETA is listed.

The ETA will be the most accurate way of knowing if it will arrive on time for Christmas, once it's in the hands of the carrier we are assuming it is on track to be delivered in time.

 

I got an email saying my package was shipped but the tracking info hasn't updated yet!

If you got an email for your package being sent that means your printer is being sent to the carrier and the tracking should start updating soon. It can sometimes take up to 48 hours for the carrier to update the status. Often the carrier does not scan the package at pickup to save time. Sometimes packages do not have tracking associated with them, but are still delivered according to schedule. 

 

Accommodations for orders arriving after Dec 24:

Although we we have been optimistic that all orders placed within the dates provided will arrive by Christmas, we are seeing additional carrier delays that will push many deliveries after Christmas. In the event that they don’t we would like to compensate all late orders.

If you receive your tracking information and notice that the arrival date is after the 24th, please reach out to us immediately at support@make.toys. If any orders do arrive after Dec 24, you will have an option to return your order, or if you'd like to keep your order we will compensate with the following:

  • Expedited shipping to arrive as soon as Christmas as possible
  • Free shipping costs refunded back to you
  • Free Premium Licensed Toys ($19 total value)
    • Modbots and all Modbots expansion sets
    • Goblin Mech Fighter
    • Quad Mech
  • Bundle of Bolts to purchase licensed toys ($10 Value - 850 Bolts)
  • An optional video for your kids on Christmas morning showing the printer, activities and everything they can expect in the meantime! 

 

We know this is a very important time of the year for many of you and are currently doing everything in our power to ensure all orders are delivered by the holidays. We have a small team of 8 that has been working overtime between managing thousands of orders individually, communicating with hard to reach fulfillment providers for clarity, and we've expanded customer service hours to near 24-7 support. Shipping providers are working overtime during a pandemic and are overloaded delivering hundreds of thousands of vaccines. Please be patient if you reach out as we're currently answering hundreds of support tickets a day!
